About Me

Hi, I’m Em Hood—short for Emily Hoodenpyle. I’m an artist from Tallahassee, Florida, and I love creating in all kinds of ways. I paint, draw, make digital art, and even craft little things like painted magnets and decorated boxes. I’m drawn to landscapes, abstract shapes, and anything that lets me mix color and emotion in new ways.

Art has always been part of who I am, and it’s how I express the things I care about most—nature, energy, feeling, and the wonder of the universe. I love physics, and I’m always thinking about how things move and connect, and that definitely shows up in my work.

I’m a proud mom of four, and family means everything to me. When I’m not making art, I’m probably reading, journaling, or watching anime (I’m into all kinds, and yes, I have favorite characters). I’m also a big Harry Potter fan—Slytherin all the way—and I love collecting things that make me happy: pins, books, clocks, and HP memorabilia.

 Sometimes I just chill out and play Minecraft, building little towns and sharing my creations on Instagram. Creativity is a huge part of my life in every form. My art is a reflection of that—and I’m so excited to share it with you.
